The receiver's sixth amplifier channel drives a surround back speaker for the latest 6.1-channel Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES 96/24 soundtracks, and Dolby Pro Logic IIx creates an incredible 7.1-channel experience with ordinary 2-channel sources like CDs, VHS tapes and even FM radio. Active EQ tailors the receiver's response to bring the best sound out of whatever type of speakers you have (full-range, satellites, etc) and the type of program you're listening to (Movies, Music, or TV). The VR-8050 has connections for 8 different audio components (including a turntable and a DVD-Audio player) and features Component and S-Video Connections for maximum video quality.
